William De Trafford, the Land Owner of Old Trafford.

A very rare piece of Manchester United memorabilia.

A hand written letter from 15th May 1693 by Mr William Trafford (Lord of the Manor of Swithamley), who’s family dynasty would have owned the land that Old Trafford stands on today.

Quite exceptionally, William De Trafford lived to be 93 years of age which was quite a feat in those days, as life expectancy was a lot shorter than it is today. It is assumed that the name’ Old Trafford’ refers to this point in time from him.

The Letter is framed in a gilt mount with glass cover. A really amazing piece.

size is 12″ X 10″ in the heavy frame.
