This is the Farewell to Stanley Matthews at Stoke’s Victoria Ground, April 28th 1965, 96 pages, a fantastic tribute to England’s greatest ever player, Covers Sir Stan’s career in detail from the early days, through the war and to the mid 60s. lots of great photos.

The match was between Stan’s XI and a World Stars XI, as well as a Harry Johnstons XI v Walley Barnes XI, some of the greatest players in the history of the game played that night, Bobby Moore, Armfield, Cohen, Wilson, Hunt. Greaves and Sir Bobby Charlton from the 1966 World Cup squad, Denis Law, Puskas, Eusebio, Yashin, Tilkowski, Gento.
