Officially, the game was Great Britain, The Republic of Ireland and Denmark v Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and West Germany.
The squads were fantastic. The Three included Pat Jennings, Bobby Moore, Billy Bremner, Johnny Giles, and Bobby Charlton, while the Six featured Zoff, Beckenbauer, Neeskens, Van Hanegen, Krol, and Netzer. The Three were managed by Alf Ramsey, the Six by Helmut Schoen.
The match itself was won 2-0 by the Three, thanks to goals from Henning Jensen and Colin Stein, in front of a crowd of 36,500.
